Make your own icons

If you are familiar and comfortable with Adobe PhotoShop there are a number of fun plug-ins that you can add to do more. For example, you can use the Export Icon Plugin to create icons for use with your folders, dock, etc.

Once downloaded and installed all you have to do is create your icon (128x128px max) and choose File/Export/Export Icon.

Once you have your icon saved you can click on it and Apple-i (to "get info"), select the icon in the info dialogue box and Apple-C (copy) and Apple-P (paste) into the info window of what you'd like to carry the icon.

Here is an icon I made for OpenOffice.org

Control-Click Here and select "Save linked file as..." to download .icns file.

Fun? Yes, I think so.
