Those 4-year old laptops that moms and dads across America are bringing home for their high-school and college kids aren't multimedia monsters; they don't have Firewire(tm) ports or uber graphics cards, but they're just fine at surfing text sites on the web, writing in word, using the calculator, and creating charts in Excel.
Which are the last things on earth students want to use them for.
